Herbal Tea

If you are a tea lover but you are trying to avoid Caffeine, then consider Herbal Blends.  Your cravings will have an opportunity to experiment with different combinations and unique blends.  No matter what your palate craves herbal blends will allow that creativity.
Herbal Tea is not actually “tea” as these beverages typically do not contain the leaves or leaf buds of tea plants.  Herbal teas are made from tisanes, which are blends or infusions of dried fruits, flowers, spices or herb in water.  Tisanes have been shown to offer medicinal effects.

There are three healthy teas and they are:
  1. Ginger tea—which is best known as a trusted nausea remedy.
  2. Chamomile tea—is more than just a calming beverage to consume before bedtime, people have been using it as a natural remedy for several health conditions since ancient times.
  3. Hibiscus tea—is made from the brightly colored flowers of the hibiscus plant. Hibiscus teas offer antiviral and cardiovascular benefits, mainly due to the antioxidant “anthocyanins”.  This herbal tea has been shown to be effective against strains of bird flu. Another cardiovascular benefit of this tea is it’s ability to help decrease LDL ( bad )Cholesterol levels.
Avoid drinking hibiscus tea if you take the medication hydrochlorothiazide.
